Faith As a Defence
August 4, 2026Welcome to the Month of August, with the prophetic focus being Stewardship and Servanthood. A steward, is defined as one who manages another person’s household or property, the steward is not the owner. A big question then arises, why would anyone give someone something to manage on their behalf? Each and everyone of us are stewards, the highest purpose of a steward is not for personal recognition rather it is for God to receives Glory and Thanksgiving all throughout our lives. The stewardship the Lord has called us to do is to be able to show up in such a way that our lives give thanks to Him.

- We do not own the spiritual gifts we have, it is by the grace of God (James 1:17)
- A faithful steward recognizes God as the source of everything
- Thanksgiving begins with recognizing ownership
- Once we come to the understanding that we own nothing and that everything we have in our hands is because God has given it to us, it makes our thanksgiving much appreciated (James 1:17)
- A faithful steward never says I, instead they says that God is the one who gave them the Grace to do what was done. (Deuteronomy 8:18)
- A faithful steward serves with gratitude not entitlement
- You cannot come to the place of gratitude with an entitlement mentality or mindset (Psalms 100:2)
- We serve not because we must rather, we serve because we have received grace (Colossians 3:23-24)
- A faithful steward multiplies what God has given them (Matthew 25: 21), (John 15:8)
- Are we multiplying the gift God has given us?
- A faithful stewards life causes others to thank God (2 corinthians 9:10 -12)
- God expects our thanksgiving, everything belongs to God
- Everything entrusted to us is to be used for God’s Glory
